2010 is going to be the most exciting year yet for the junior Mugars. With a now experienced side there are finals in our line of vision, even the grand final! Those who have been around for the past few years have become teachers and those new to the club have become part of the Mugars family.
To those who want to start playing football please come down and give training a try. I assure you, you will be welcomed with open arms no matter what your ability. If you have never played before - GREAT, we all have to start somewhere; and to those that have played before- we are the team for you!
Our motto is teamwork. Everybody gets a go! We support each other’s strengths and develop each other’s weaknesses. (But I doubt there are many - it's all about confidence).
Our squad is linked to the Melbourne University senior team, the two teams are supportive of each other and there are always opportunities to train with the senior team. This relationship opens doors to the VWFL (Victorian Women’s Football League). As Women’s football is growing across Victoria more opportunities are arsing for elite pathways if you are serious about your footy.
First there is club level, then Western Inter-league where you get the opportunity to play with other girls from different clubs. Further, there is the Victorian Youth Girls Academy - an elite squad of female footballers from all over the state who learn lessons for on and off the field from the most experienced professionals. Last year the academy’s ambassador was Angus Monfries from Essendon Football Club.
We here at the Mugars hope to see you ASAP.
Have a good one
From the Team

We have 2 senior teams and for the past few years a youth girls team as well. The youth girls competition has expanded over the past four years into involving nearly 1000 girls across Victoria.
The MUGARS are in the Western League are are an enthusiastic and dedicated side who have a moral of NEVER giving up. The junior MUGARS play every week from the start of May until mid August- excluding the school holidays. Training is in Parkville at Ransford oval, Park street- from 5-6.30 on Tuesday nights.
This year we have a team lead by Kate Francis and Neil Barker. Kate is a experienced footballer and is a member of the senior MUGARS. Neil Barker our other junior coach is a Father of 2 players at the club.
